Why do concrete projects need cracks or lines cut into them?
-
These cuts are called control joints. As concrete dries over time, it has some small shrinkage. If cuts are not made before this shrinkage occurs, it causes the concrete to crack and break. These cuts prevent the cracking from happening.
You have a walk-behind concrete saw. Why is this important?
- On any project, but especially large projects, it is important to have the control joints be straight and consistent depth. A walk-behind saw allows us to make precise, straight cuts instead of needing to do it by hand and risk uneven cuts or crooked lines.
What is stamped concrete?
- Stamped concrete creates a pattern or texture on the top of the concrete that resembles a variety of patterns and shapes. Common patterns are brick, wood, pavers, flagstone, and hardscape materials.
What is the advantage of doing a concrete project instead of hardscaping?
- Concrete projects are typically more cost-effecting and lower maintenance than a hardscape project. Depending on the project, stamped concrete designs allow for hardscape or wood patterns on the concrete.
